Top 100 Songs of 2018: The Year-End Chart

“God's Plan” by Drake was the biggest hit of 2018, finishing at No. 1 on the year-end Top 100 ahead of “Perfect” by Ed Sheeran and “Meant to Be” by Bebe Rexha. The year-end chart ranks the songs that performed best across the whole year, not just in a single week.

17 acts placed more than one song on the list, led by Drake (6), Post Malone (4), Imagine Dragons (4), Cardi B (4), Maroon 5 (3). 14 of the 100 were holdovers from the 2017 list, so 86 songs were new to the year-end chart.

The 2010s: the sound of the era

Streaming changed the charts in the 2010s. On-demand streams began counting toward the pop chart in 2012, and the year-end lists filled with EDM-flavored pop, trap-influenced hip-hop and long-running smashes that stayed on the chart for most of a year.
